Early Imperial Age (IA), pt. 2

   Six centuries of ZungAlexian history occurring during the Early Imperial Age of the “Pax Zungzamia Imperia” between 608 and 1239 IA, before the peace of the Imperium darkens, are recorded here.


608 IA (815 CE)

Late in the year Zel’Koni Sentinels and Sentinel-Mavens publicly transition from their hip carried power pack masabes to the new versions with the power cylinders in the masabe’s hilt.

619 IA

Nikolaus III, having ruled Zungzamia for 117 years, dies at 175 of age. His eldest son ascends the throne as Nikolaus IV, the ninth Imperator of Zungzamia.

643 IA (850 CE)

The government of the last independent nation on the father-world cedes control of all of its territory to the Imperium and dissolves. The Imperator decrees that the territory of the former country will become the Imperial Province of Fillrod.

653 IA

Nikolaus IV dies after 34 years on the throne having never married and no legitimate heirs. His brother, the youngest surviving son of Nikolaus III, ascends the throne as Georgius III, the tenth Imperator of Zungzamia.

674 IA (881 CE)

The 500-year imperial moratorium on the exploration and possible settlement of Alexandrus is lifted without any objection from Georgius III or the Imperial Senate.

687 IA

The first orbital probe and rover in more than 500 years arrives at Alexandrus.

693 IA (900 CE)

For the first time since 170 IA, Imperial astronauts land on the surface of Alexandrus and having learned the hard lessons of 500 years ago, the astronauts on the surface are in possession of weapons for protection. While there, they visit the gravesite of their comrades who died during the last mission to Alexandrus.

Over the next 30 years, ISA conducts 18 manned landings on Alexandrus with the last six missions establishing the first outpost for scientific research of the planet.

708 IA (915 CE)

As the first scientific outpost on Alexandrus is being established, the Imperial Army, via the Imperial Colonial Military Command and with the assistance of the ISA, sends a pelotin (squad) of Imperial Military Police to provide security for the outpost.

710 IA

The Imperial Senate establishes the Office of Colonial Affairs as part of the Imperial Ministry of the Interior through the Administration of the Imperial Extrasolar Colonial Territories Act.

715 IA

As a requirement to become an Imperial colony, the scientists on Zungzamia IV name their research outpost “Possibilitas”.

718 IA (925 CE)

Imperator Georgius III, through the Office of Colonial Affairs, grants the research colony, known as “Possibilitas”, on Zungzamia IV an Imperial Colonial Charter.

720 IA

The Zel’Koni Order, with permission from the Imperator, sends a pair of Zel’Koni Sentinels to Alexandrus to explore the world and look into the possibility of establishing a permanent presence on Zungzamia IV.

Commonly known as Voragin, ISA launches its first unmanned probe with a lander to Zungzamia V.

723 IA

8 Septimbrium – In the colony of Possibilitas on Alexandrus, the first marriage on the colony world between two Possibilitas scientists occurs.

725 IA (932 CE)

Ruling the Imperium for 72 years, Georgius III dies at the age of 162. His son ascends the throne as Georgius IV, the 11thImperator of Zungzamia.

4 Septimbrium - The first Zungzamian child is born on Alexandrus.

1 Decimbrium – The Imperium charters its first civilian colony on Alexandrus.

26 Ainlifium – The first 100 civilian colonists arrive on Alexandrus.

727 IA

The ICMC establishes the first, permanent ground base for the Imperial military on Alexandrus.

731 IA

The Imperial Space Agency conducts the first and second manned missions concurrently to Voragin (Zungzamia V) and its two moons.

ISA begins construction of facilities at various locations on Alexandrus.

750 IA (957 CE)

The Imperium of Zungzamia commemorates its 750th Anniversary.

779 IA

The Sacred Order of Zel’Koni commemorates its founding 1,500 years ago.

786 IA (993 CE)

Named for Veronica Zoe Zungzamius, the legendary First Lady of the Federal Republic of Zungzamia, the town of Veronica is founded on Alexandrus. Over the next 35 years, Veronica grows exponentially due to early and continuous economic growth in the town and throughout the colony world.

793 IA (1000 CE)

800 IA

The ISA launches the first of 10 outer star system unmanned probes (OSUP) from its launch facilities on Alexandrus.

811 IA

Veronica celebrates the 25th Anniversary of its founding. As part of the celebrations, Imperator Georgius IV, through the Office of Colonial Affairs, grants Veronica an Imperial Colonial City Charter.

818 IA (1025 CE)

The scientists inhabiting Possibilitas celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the colony’s naming.

820 IA

Following numerous visits to Alexandrus by members of the Order and decades of debate, the Grand Assembly of the Zel’Koni Order decides to establish a permanent presence on the Imperial colony world.

825 IA

The Sacred Order of Zel’Koni establishes its outpost on Alexandrus.

ISA's OSUP5 discovers the previously unknown 4th, 5th, and 6th moons of Zungzamia VII.

833 IA

Georgius IV dies after ruling the Imperium for 108 years. His son ascends the throne as Nikolaus V, the 12th Imperator of Zungzamia.

836 IA

The 50th Anniversary of the founding of Veronica is celebrated by its inhabitants.

859 IA (1066 CE)

14 Decimbrium - The first Zungzamian born on Alexandrus dies at the age of 134.

861 IA

The Imperial Senate passes legislation that is signed by Imperator Nikolaus V establishing the Imperial colonial city of Veronica as the capital of the Imperial colonies on Alexandrus.

The inhabitants of Veronica celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the founding of their city and the 50th Anniversary of the city’s Imperial Colonial City charter.

886 IA

The Imperial colonists living in the colonial capital of Veronica celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the city’s founding.

911 IA

Veronica commemorates the 100th Anniversary of its’ Imperial Colonial City charter.

Constitutional amendment ratified to allow Imperial Senators to represent the Imperial Colonies on Alexandrus in the Imperial Senate in Omiris on Zungzamia.

The first known case of space piracy takes place within the star system.

918 IA (1125 CE)

The scientists who call Possibilitas home commemorate the 200th anniversary of its’ naming.

925 IA

The first Imperial space fighters enter service with the ICMC to combat space piracy.

936 IA

The 150th Anniversary of the founding of Veronica is celebrated.

950 IA

The Imperial Colonial Military Command (ICMC) becomes a separate service branch of the Imperial Armed Forces.

968 IA (1175 CE)

The scientists inhabiting Possibilitas, the first scientific research colony on Alexandrus celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the colony’s naming.

Nikolaus V dies having ruled the Imperium for 135 years. His son ascends the throne as Nikolaus VI, the 13th Imperator of Zungzamia.

974 IA

ISA’s ninth OSUP enters interstellar space.

977 IA

ISA’s tenth OSUP enters interstellar space.

986 IA (1193 CE)

The citizens of the Imperial Colonial capital of Veronica celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the city’s founding.

1000 IA (1207 CE)

Year-long celebrations take place to commemorate the Imperium’s 1,000th Anniversary.

4 Ainlifium – The citizens of the cities of Omiris and Laco vote to merge the two cities into one with the combined city name of Omirilaco. As the cities combine, the capital of the Imperial Province of Cardia moves to the ancient city of Panavisio.

1032 IA

On Kah’in, Rostati Industries merges with Kah’in Mining to form the Rostati-Kah’in Mining Corporation.

1036 IA

The Imperial colonists living in the colonial capital of Veronica celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the city’s founding.

1043 IA (1250 CE)

Imperator Nikolaus VI dies after 75 years of rule. His son ascends the throne as Georgius V, the 14th Imperator of Zungzamia.

1086 IA

Following 43 years of ruling the Imperium of Zungzamia, Georgius V dies. With no male heirs of his own, his brother ascends the Imperial throne as Cornelius IV, the 15th Imperator of Zungzamia.

1161 IA (1368 CE)

Crown Prince Mikael Georgius ascends the Imperial throne upon the death of his father, Cornelius IV; becoming Georgius VI, the 16th Imperator of Zungzamia.

1164 IA [EoC 2000] (1371 CE)

Two thousand years ago, the Coalition of Zungzamia was founded to combat the long-dead Kindaron Supremacy.

1175 IA

Cornelius Paulus Zungzamius, future Imperator Cornelius V, is born.

1178 IA

Georgius VI and his Impress discover that their young son Cornelius is attuned to the Koni. Contacting the Order, a member of the Grand Assembly visits the Zila Māja (the Imperial Palace) and examines the boy. Confirming what the Imperator knows, he gives permission for his son to be taken to the Grand Hall of the Order to be trained as a Zel’Koni Sentinel.

1195 IA

Prince Cornelius Paulus of the Imperial Zungzamius family, having completed his training, is bestowed upon him the title of “Sentinel of the Sacred Order of Zel’Koni” by the Grand Sentinel Maven and the Maven of the Grand Assembly. The bestowment ceremony, rarely seen by non-members, is witnessed by the prince’s parents, Imperator Georgius VI and Impress Zoe.

1199 IA [2000 AF] (1406 CE)

The Federal Republic of Zungzamia, the predecessor to the Imperium of Zungzamia, was established 2,000 years ago, under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Zungzamia.

1218 IA

The scientists and support staff of Possibilitas celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the naming of the first scientific research colony on Zungzamia IV.

1234 IA

The Crown Prince, Antonius Vincentius is killed in an air transport crash while on a good will tour of the Alexandrian colonies. His brother, Zel’Koni Sentinel Cornelius Paulus attends the funeral and informs his father he will not leave the Order to become the Crown Prince, despite being the only remaining son of Georgius VI.

1239 IA (1446 CE)

For the first time since the death of the Crown Prince, Imperator Georgius VI and his only living son Zel’Koni Sentinel Cornelius Paulus meet in seclusion within the confines of the K’Sos Imperial Memorial Park. While they meet they discover an enormous and colossally deep cave. Following its discovery, father and son decide to keep the location between them and hide the entrance.
