Age of Freedom (AF), pt. 1

   The Age of Freedom is the second age within the Ancient Era of ZungAlexia history. It begins with the establishment of the Federal Republic of Zungzamia. Lasting 800 years, the age ends with the Republic's transition to the Imperium of Zungzamia. This page records the events of the first seventy years of the Age of Freedom (0-70 AF), while subsequent pages record the remainder of this age of ZungAlexian history.


0 AF/EoC 35 (595 BCE)

1 Ianuarum – The Federal Republic of Zungzamia (FRZ) is officially established as its’ governing document, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Zungzamia comes into force. The Republic consists of the former independent nation-states of Zungzamia, Cardia, Bivoria, Norg, Vygeroa, Selil, and Casadamus, which retain their names except Zungzamia, changing its’ name to Jantia.

5 Ianuarum – The 84 citizens of the Republic elected to the National Congress assemble in Omiris, take their oaths of office, elect the Speaker & other officers of Congress and divide themselves into five separate, yet equal as possible divisions to determine the expiration of the members’ terms of office as described in the Constitution, thus beginning the first session of the National Congress.

15 Ianuarum – Having been elected by the people of the Republic, Alexandrus Cornelius Zungzamius take the oath of office becoming the first Guardian of the Republic.

Throughout the year, the National Congress passes large amounts of legislation which are signed into law by A. C. Zungzamius as the Guardian. The laws establish numerous government institutions and agencies including the Army and Navy of the Republic. Also a new calendar system is adopted making the current year “Year 0” of the Age of Freedom or 0 AF with the next year 1 AF and all following years numbered sequentially with no changes to the names of months or the number of days in the months.

4 Septimbrium – Citizens across the new nation celebrate the anniversary of the formation of the Coalition of Zungzamia 35 years earlier as an unofficial national holiday for the first time.

5 Ainlifium – The citizens of Citium Audracal choose to restore the city’s old name of Genth as it becomes the capital of the FRZ State of Jantia.

1 AF/EoC 36

Described in the Constitution, the National Congress enacts legislation that is signed into law creating a political-geographic division for the Seat of Government for the Federal Republic of Zungzamia named the Vabadusa Rajons surrounding the city of Omiris, the state capital of Cardia. The city and surrounding lands is ceded by Cardia to the Federal government. The state government of Cardia moves its’ seat to the neighboring town of Laco.

15 Pentibrium – The lifemate of Vincentius Kindaron, who is with child, chooses to have the child in her native village. The Valdovas of the Supremacy has no objection but is unable to travel with her. He secretly gives his lifemate a family heirloom which serves as a symbol of the family line.

30 Senabrium – Six years to the day after ratifying the Peace Treaty of Shi’Took, Vincentius Brutus Kindaron is brutally murdered in front of numerous witnesses during a duel with his older, yet illegitimate brother, Markus Antonius Kindaron. With backing from the Supremacy Army, M. A. Kindaron declares himself the new Valdovas of the Supremacy, becoming its’ seventh Ruler. Markus and his geleras begin a massive, long-range rebuilding effort of the military occurring far from the borders of the “rebelling kelonas”.

20 Septimbrium – In a village far from the capital, the lifemate of the murdered Valdovas gives birth to a son named Vincentius Cornelius Kindaron, the true heir to the Kindaron Supremacy. The boy is raised in the village under an assumed name.

15 Ianuarum – Having been re-elected the previous year, A. C. Zungzamius reaffirms the oath of Office of the Guardian of the Republic, beginning his second term.

14 AF/EoC 49

11 Novimbrium – Legislation is enacted and signed into law in the FRZ declaring Coalition Day (4 Septimbrium), Constitution Day (16 Trebrium) and A. C. Zungzamius’ birthday (29 Pentibrium) as national holidays.

15 AF/EoC 50 (580 BCE)

4 Septimbrium – The Federal Republic of Zungzamia celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Coalition of Zungzamia as Coalition Day is celebrated as a National Holiday for the first time.

4 Ocktubrium - After more than 11 years of construction, the Guardian's House is officially dedicate to the service of the Republic.

7 Pentibrium - After more than 16 years of construction, the Republic Capitol is officially dedicated to the service of the Republic.

Under his assumed name, Vincentius Cornelius Kindaron begins his compulsory service to the Kindaron Supremacy Army.

25 AF/EoC 60 (570 BCE)

Deep within the Kindaron Supremacy an olkimst invents “flashdust”. Over the next several months he experiments with his new invention to the point of creating the first rocket within the confines of his workshop. The first time that the olkimst launches it, he destroys his workshop. His work is noticed by local Supremacy officials. He explains to the officials what he had created and several days later demonstrates the flashdust and the rocket to them. They are so impressed that the send the olkimst to Citium Daro under military escort to see the Valdovas, Markus Antonius Kindaron.

After several weeks of travel to Citium Daro and several days of rest, the olkimst demonstrates his flashdust and flashdust powered rocket inventions for the Ruler and his advisors. His audience is overwhelmed by the demonstration and Markus Antonius Kindaron tells the olkimst that he will be staying in the capital permanently to develop his inventions and be given any thing he needs to make more of his flashdust and his flashdust rockets.

27 AF/EoC 62 [273 AK] (568 BCE)

Vincentius Cornelius Kindaron completes his compulsory military service to the Kindaron Supremacy.

28 AF

As the olkimst’s inventions are manufactured; he continues to experiment with them, eventually developing the first cannon. At the direction of the Valdovas, the olkimst shows the military’s weapons builders how to build his inventions. Over time the weapons builders expand on the olkimst’s ideas and create the first pistol and musket.

30 AF/EoC 65 [276 AK] (565 BCE)

Argentius Capillus’ surviving son, Markus, at the age of 20 marries a young woman from their village.

35 AF/EoC 70 [281 AK]

A. C. Zungzamius announces he will not seek a seventh term as Guardian.

Within the Supremacy, the production of flashdust weapons for the Army and the Navy continues at a high rate.

36 AF

15 Ianuarum – Having been elected by the citizens of the Republic, Cornelius Alexandrus Zungzamius, eldest son of A. C. Zungzamius is sworn into the office of the Guardian, succeeding his father.

38 AF (557 BCE)

Argentius Capillus’ daughter-by-marriage gives birth to a set of fraternal twins: a boy named Jaksa and a girl named Cornelia.

45 AF/EoC 80 (550 BCE)

Alexandrus C. Zungzamius becomes a deputy magistrate of Supreme Court of the Republic at the age of 150.

51 AF (544 BCE)

Jaksa and Cornelia Capillus begin to develop telekinetic and telepathic abilities upon reaching puberty. Over the next few years their family does their best to shield them from the villagers to avoid potential violence.

54 AF/EoC 89 [300 AK]

The Kindaron Supremacy celebrates 300 years of existence.

55 AF/EoC 90 [301 AK] (540 BCE)

Believed to be 150 years of age, Argentius Capillus dies. In his past, Capillus was known as Cassius Georgius Kindaron, dying at his actual age of 170.

56 AF

After a sudden and uncontrollable surge in the 18-year-old twins’ abilities that resulted in the unfortunate and tragic death of two adults and three children in the village, Jaksa and Cornelia leave their home village beginning a self-imposed exile. They leave a letter stating their intentions of protecting their family, friends and the village as a whole and their hopes that they may find others like them.

At 42 years of age, Vincentius Cornelius Kindaron marries.

60 AF/EoC 95 (535 BCE)

The lifemate of Vincentius Cornelius Kindaron gives birth to their son, Markus Vincentius Kindaron, the grandson of Vincentius Brutus Kindaron, the true heir to the Kindaron Supremacy. He is given an assumed name at the time of his birth for his protection.

65 AF/EoC 100 (530 BCE)

At the age of 170, Alexandrus C. Zungzamius retires from public life to his personal residence outside the growing city of Nivo.

4 Septimbrium – The FRZ celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the Coalition of Zungzamia.

Over the course of the previous nine years, the Capillus twins do find a small number of other individuals with similar abilities of varying degrees. This group of extra-ordinary individuals come across a very remote village called by its inhabitants as Bekes, where an overwhelming number of the inhabitants have similar abilities who welcome the Capillus group with open arms.

70 AF/EoC 105 [316 AK] (525 BCE)

5 Senabrium – Having turned 175 years of age one week earlier, (Lucius) Alexandrus Cornelius Zungzamius dies. A massive state funeral takes place and he is laid to rest inside a massive maseoleum at National Cemetery just outside the Federal City of Omiris ten days later.
