The eleventh film in the franchise, simply titled STAR TREK was released in theaters on 8 May 2009. Its musical score would be composed and conducted by Michael Giacchino, a new comer to the franchise. Prior to composing the film score for STAR TREK, Mr. Giacchino composed the scores for 11 feature films, six short films, 21 video games, and 7 television films dating back to 1995. He would also compose music for various episodes of four television series.
