The fourth television series of the Star Trek franchise was created by Rick Berman, Micheal Piller and Jeri Taylor in 1994. The theme for this fourth incarnation, entitled Star Trek: Voyager, was composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith in 1994, prior to the series premiere on the now–defunct American television network, the United Paramount Network or UPN on 16 January 1995. The theme music would be used until the series ended in May 2001.
