On 23 January 2020, a sequel to Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG) premiered online through the streaming service CBS All Access (later Paramount+), known as Star Trek: Picard. The series followed the adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard twenty years after the final TNG film, Star Trek: Nemesis. The music, including the Main Title Theme, of this online series, which would run for three seasons until 20 April 2023, would be composed by Jeff Russo. Between the premiere of Star Trek: Discovery and Picard, Russo would compose music for at least a dozen TV series and since the series ending he has continued his work on various TV shows and films, including the online TV film Star Trek: Section 31 released on Paramount+ on 24 January 2025..
