Music from

The “Main Title Theme” for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was composed by Dennis McCarthy who had done work on Star Trek: The Next Generation. This theme for DS9 would be used during the first three season of that show between 1993 and 1995. For the fourth season and through the remainder of the series, Mr. McCarty would re-arrange the theme with a different ending and a faster tempo. The theme used in season one through three became available with the release of the DS9 “The Emissary” episode soundtrack in September 1993 about eight months after the series premiered. The season four through seven theme became commercially available as part of The Best Of Star Trek: 30th Anniversary Special! Original TV Soundtrack released in September 1996, featuring music from, at-the-time, the four live-action series.
