The Starship [Spacecraft] List has gone through significant changes for 2026.
These changes are very much overdue but the purpose of the list is still the same: provide names,
classes and registry numbers of Federation Starfleet vessels seen on the big or small screen
throughout the Star Trek franchise. The list has been expanded and to account for this
expansion, the list has been divided into four sub-lists; Prime Universe Starfleet (United Earth
& Federation), Prime Universe civilian ships, and Kelvin Timeline Starfleet & Terran
Empire Starfleet.
This new edition of the list is primarily compiled from the 2016 (a.k.a.
4th) Edition of The Star Trek Encyclopedia with some additional information
from the online wiki, Memory Alpha.
The list is incomplete for two reasons: 1.) More than 10 years of productions added to the
franchise since the 4th Edition of the Encyclopedia was published, 2.) The
Encyclopedia’s list does not include all information for every ship. For example,
the Encyclopedia lists U.S.S. Destiny mentioned in three Star Trek: Deep Space 9
episodes. However, the Encyclopedia’s list excludes a registry number and
a ship class. Because of this missing information, the Destiny and every other ship
that is missing its' registry number and ship class in the Encyclopedia’s
list is not a part of this list. At some point in the future, this list may be
updated to include ships from the online streaming series; those that have been completed and
the series that are still active (as of 2026).
As mentioned, the list is broken down into four sub-lists, which can be accessed
from the navigation bar above. For even easier navigation the Prime Universe Starfleet sub-list is
broken down into five groups; alphabetized by ship name. Click, Surf, Enjoy and of course,
