The Tomed Incident between the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire occurs, resulting in the death of thousands of Federation citizens. The Treaty of Algeron is signed between the two interstellar powers soon after the incident. The Romulans enter an extended period of isolation that lasts for 53 years.

The Galaxy-class prototype, registered as NX-70637, is launched.

While serving as a Lieutenant aboard the Excelsior-class USS Potemkin, Riker participates in a rescue mission at Nervala IV. A transporter malfunction creates an exact duplicate of Riker and the duplicate becomes trapped on the planet.

Bearing registy number NCC-1701-D, the newest Galaxy-class vessel is commissioned into Starfleet service as USS Enterprise, becoming the fifth Federation starship to bear the name.

(TNG1) — Jean-Luc Picard takes command of Enterprise-D with Riker as the ship's executive officer. First contact with Q. First known contact with the Ferengi. Natasha Yar, serving as tactical officer & Security Chief aboard Enterprise-D, is killed on Vagra II.

(TNG2) — Dr. Beverly Crusher leaves the Enterprise-D to serve at Starfleet Medical. Dr. Katherine Pulaski comes aboard Enterprise-D to serve as Chief Medical Officer. First known contact with the Borg.

(TNG3) — Dr. Beverly Crusher returns to the Enterprise-D as Chief Medical Officer. Enterprise-C briefly enters this time from the past. Worf, serving as tactical officer & Security Chief, accepts discommendation for acts his late father did not commit against the Klingon Empire. Captain Picard is captured by the Borg and is altered to become Locutus of Borg. Riker is field promoted to Captain of Enterprise.

(TNG4) — Thirty-nine starships are destroyed by the Borg in the Battle of Wolf 359, including USS Saratoga (NCC-31911), where Lt. Commander Benjamin Sisko serves as first officer. Sisko and his son, Jake survive the battle. Jean-Luc Picard is rescued from the Borg and returns to Enterprise as Captain. Riker reverts to Commander and XO of the ship. Alexander Rozhenko, son of Worf and K'Ehleyr, is born. Wesley Crusher, son of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Beverly Crusher, is accepted to Starfleet Academy. Jean-Luc Picard serves as arbiter of succession to determine the new leader (chancellor) of the Klingon High Council.

(TNG5) — The Duras family of the Klingon Empire, with assistance from the Romulan Empire, attempts to seize control of the Klingon High Council, plunging the empire into civil war. Captain Picard and a small Federation fleet under his command expose the involvement of the Romulans in the Klingon civil war, forcing the Romulans to withdraw and the Duras family to flee. Ambassador Spock is sighted on Romulus, supporting reunification of the Romulan and Vulcan people. Ambassador Sarek of Vulcan dies at age 203 of Bendii Syndrome. Wesley Crusher admits to participating in a cover-up of a fatal accident at Starfleet Academy and is held back for one year.

(TNG6/DSN1) — Captain Montgomery Scott is discovered alive, suspended in a transporter beam aboard USS Jenolen. Cmdr. Will Riker's duplicate is discovered on Nervala IV; the duplicate begins a new life as ‘Thomas Riker’, continuing his Starfleet service aboard USS Gandhi. The Cardassian Union withdraws claim to Bajor. At the request of the Bajoran provisional government, Starfleet assumes control of the orbiting Cardassian space station Terok Nor, renaming it Deep Space Nine (DS9), promotes Benjamin Sisko to Commander and assigns him to command the station. First stable wormhole discovered near planet Bajor and DS9 is moved closer to its' location in the Denorios Belt. Bajoran religious leader Kai Opaka is killed in the Gamma Quadrant, triggering a power struggle to determine her successor.

(TNG7/DSN2) — A religious extremist group called the Circle attempts to overthrow the Bajoran provisional government. A clone of the legendary Kahless the Unforgettable is ruled the rightful heir to the throne, becoming the new emperor of the Klingon Empire. Wesley Crusher resigns from Starfleet Academy to go off with the Traveler to explore other dimensions. Humanity survives annihilation in a test devised by Q to determine if the human mind can encompass new ideas. Hostile first contact is made by Starfleet with the Dominion of the Gamma Quadrant and an invasion of the Alpha Quadrant by the Dominion is feared.

(DSN3/VGR1/ST7) — Starship Defiant (NX-74205) is assigned to DS9. The recently commissioned Intrepid-class USS Voyager (NCC-74656) is lost in the Badlands region of the Alpha Quadrant having been “relocated” to the Delta Quadrant of the galaxy. Legendary captain James T. Kirk emerges from the nexus and is killed on Veridian III. Starship Enterprise-D is destroyed at Veridian III. Deep Space Nine commander Benjamin Sisko is promoted to Captain.

(DSN4/VGR2) — Amelia Earhart is discovered alive by Voyager's crew in the Delta Quadrant. Believing the Cardassian Union is under the direct control of The Dominion, the Klingon Empire attacks the Union. Once the Federation denounces the invasion, Chancellor Gowron of the Klingon Empire dissolves the Khitomer Accords. Lt. Commander Worf is assigned to DS9. Tom Paris of Starship Voyager becomes the first human to break the Transwarp Barrier. Starfleet launches and commissions the sixth Federation starship to bear the name Enterprise. The Sovereign-class starship is registered as NCC-1701-E and placed under the command of Jean-Luc Picard.

(DSN5/VGR3/ST8) — Starship Voyager leaves Kazon space, enters the Nekrit Expanse, and encounters the Borg Collective. Kes evolves into the next level of Ocampa existence. To protect itself from the Klingons following more than a year of war, the Cardassian Union forms alliance with The Dominion, threatening the stability of the Alpha Quadrant. The Khitomer Accords between the Federation and the Klingon Empire are reestablished. Starship Enterprise-E helps repel a major Borg invasion of the Sol sector. The Romulan Empire and Bajor sign non-aggression treaties with The Dominion. In order to prevent more Dominion ships from entering the Alpha Quadrant, DS9 personnel develop self-replicating mines and place them at the entrance to the wormhole as Dominion forces attack the station. Following a brief battle, Starfleet personnel evacuate and, under the brief command of Bajoran Militia Major Kira Nerys, the station surrenders; beginning the Dominion War.

(DSN6/VGR4) — The large-scale war between the Federation/Klingon Alliance and the Dominion continues unabated. After heavy losses, Starfleet regains control of DS9 from the Dominion. Worf marries Jadzia Dax, who is later killed by Cardassian Gul Dukat. Voyager is threaten by Species 8472. Former Borg drone Seven of Nine joins Voyager's crew. Voyager succeeds in contacting Starfleet Command through the use of a Hirogen relay system, making authorities aware for the first time that Voyager and its crew is alive and well in the Delta Quadrant. Following the assassination of powerful government leader, the Romulan Empire abandons its Non-Aggression Treaty with the Dominion, joining the war with the Federation and the Klingon Empire.

(DSN7/VGR5/ST9) — Starship Voyager's crew build a new, advanced shuttlecraft called the Delta Flyer. Ezri Dax becomes the latest host of the Dax symbiont. Starship Defiant is destroyed in battle. The Dominion War ends as Odo returns to the Great Link. Benjamin Sisko leaves the linear realm and becomes one of the Bajoran Prophets. Colonel Kira Nerys assumes command of DS9 as Rom becomes the next Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance. Lt. Commander Worf becomes the Federation Ambassador to the Klingon Empire. Starship Enterprise-E crewmembers prevent an attempt to illegally relocate the inhabitants of Ba'ku.

(VGR6) — Starfleet Command makes direct contact with Starship Voyager in the Delta Quadrant. While at Jupiter Station in the Sol Sector, the holomatrix of Voyager's Emergency Medical Hologram becomes unstable. His creator, Dr. Lewis Zimmerman, repairs the holomatrix. Unimatrix Zero, a virtual reality within the Borg Collective, is discovered by Seven of Nine. Voyager's crew begins to assist Borg drones, who can access Unimatrix Zero, attempting free them from the Collective. The Delta Flyer is destroyed by the Borg prior to Captain Janeway, Chief Engineer Torres, and Lt. Commander Tuvok being assimilated by them.

(VGR7) — Janeway, Torres, and Tuvok are retrieved by Voyager, Unimatrix Zero is shut down. Lt. Tom Paris and Chief Engineer Torres marry, after having completed in an interstellar race with the new Delta Flyer.

(VGR7) — With the assistance of an Admiral Janeway from a “possible” future, Voyager returns to the Alpha Quadrant, through a Borg Transwarp Conduit, after spending seven years in the Delta Quadrant.

(ST10) — A swift change in government occurs on Romulus. Enterprise crewmembers Commander William T. Riker and Counselor Deanna Troi marry on Earth. A predecessor of Lt. Commander Data, known as B-4, is found on Kolarus III. Enterprise is sent to Romulus under the notion of peace, but the ship's crew discovers that the new Romulan Praetor, Shinzon is a clone of Captain Picard and wants to cripple the Federation by destroying Earth. A battle ensues to prevent this atrocity, between Shinzon's ship, the Scimitar, and Enterprise with help from the Romulans; resulting in the destruction of the Scimitar and a Romulan vessel and severe damage to Enterprise and another Romulan ship. Lt. Commander Data is killed during the battle. Enterprise returns to Earth for repairs and Riker is promoted to Captain. He and Counselor Troi depart Enterprise for their new starship home, USS Titan. Also, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Beverly Crusher leaves the ship, returning to Starfleet Medical as Lt. Commander Worf assumes the duties of first officer.

(ST11) — A Red Giant star goes supernova, threatening all life throughout the galaxy, particularly in the Romulan Star Empire. Spock of Vulcan, serving as Ambassador to Romulus, volunteers to stop the shockwave created by the exploded star from destroying Romulus using red matter. Spock is unsuccessful and Romulus is destroyed by the shockwave. Spock and a Romulan mining vessel, the Narada are thrown back in time, creating an alternate timeline.
