In the late 1960's, a television production staff, guided by the production's creator, Gene Roddenberry, created and developed STAR TREK; a television show that was "a wagontrain to the stars". During its' production; either by accident or by design, an internal history began to form and grow. Unfortunately after three seasons; the show was cancelled, ending in June, 1969. An animated series in 1973 and '74 added some bits and pieces to the internal history of STAR TREK, but the big boost came on 7 DEC 1979 when STAR TREK: The Motion Picture came to movie theaters across the country. After the release of The Motion Picture, through the following THREE DECADES, in which STAR TREK would grow, spawning FOUR more televsion series and TEN more motion pictures, its' internal history became a mythos. This section of the Webase is an attempt to document the STAR TREK mythos in the form of a chronology, of sorts. It is currently covers five centuries; 20th through 24th, with more possibly being added in the future. Click, Enjoy, and "Live Long and Prosper. |
