Timeframe

ZungAlexia Date: 02 Sena-14 Ocktub 199 UA
Earth Date: 02 June-14 August 2381 CE, Stardate 58418.0—58617.0 (approximate)

Location

Milky Way Galaxy, Beta Quadrant—two separate unexplored sectors (as defined by Federation Standards) outside Federation space; approximately 10,750 light-years from Earth.

Background

The ZungAlexian Star System lies within the Beta Quadrant, approximately 10,780 light-years from Sol (our sun). Ten planets (five terrestrials, three gas giants and two ice giants), four dwarf planets and an asteroid belt orbiting a yellow dwarf star, similar to Sol, at the center of this star system. Of the five terrestrial planets, the third and fourth planets developed Nitrogen-Oxygen atmospheres like Earth’s with plant and animal life developing on both. However, on the third planet a humanoid species evolved on it. This species evolved and developed very similar to Homo sapiens (Humans) on Earth and would eventually call themselves ZungAlexian and their sun ZungAlexia.

ZungAlexian appearance is very similar to humans. They are also anatomically and physiologically similar to humans but have a lifespan that is typically one and a half to two times longer than humans with some ZungAlexians living even longer. Also, within the star system’s total population of about 20 billion, only about 2,500 individuals have the abilities of telekinesis, telepathy or both.

The governmental authority of the star system is the United Republic of ZungAlexia (URZA) which is a united federal constitutional republic; consisting of three branches: Legislative, Executive and Judicial. The government has its modern roots in the Union of Federal Alexandrian Republics and its constitution which was enforce from the years 113 to 449 of the Era of Defiance [EoD] (1845-2181 CE). The United Republic’s ancient roots date back approximately 3,000 years, before the founding of the Federal Republic of Zungzamia which itself eventually became the Imperium of Zungzamia.

Alien Contact

The ZungAlexians have had three major contacts with aliens. All three have involved an interstellar government known as the United Federation of Planets. First Contact occurred in the year 138 EoD (1870 CE), about 100 years before the fall of the Imperium. This contact was never publicly disclosed to Imperial citizens nor was it known to the Federation.

Second Contact took place in 288 EoD (2020 CE), 175 years after the formation of the Union of Federal Alexandrian Republics (UFAR). UFAR publicly declared the contact however; this contact was also unknown to the Federation.

The third contact took place in the year 199 of the Unity Age [UA] (2381 CE), nearly 200 years after the formation of the United Republic of ZungAlexia. This contact was known to the citizens of ZungAlexia and eventually all citizens of the Federation.

Present Time

URS Enterprise (RSC-1701) representing the URZA encounters USS Mariner (NCC-74915) representing the United Federation of Planets, in unexplored star system 210 light years from ZungAlexia. This encounter marks the Federation’s first official contact with ZungAlexia.

The URZA and Federation ships head to ZungAlexia. Following the arrival of the two ships to the system, ZungAlexian government officials meet with Federation ship’s senior officers.

A State Dinner takes place. During the dinner, the United Republic Home Sector Force attempts a government overthrow (coup d’état); invading the Legislative and Executive capital cities, directly attacking the URZA’s Starfleet Headquarters located near the Executive capital’s city limits and other government buildings. The attempted overthrow is backed by the space fleet of the Imperium of Zungzamia. The military uses robots/androids to fight the bulk of the ground battle.

Story Characters

More characters, especially minor ones, still needed.
