Outline of Untitled Zungalexia Story – Version 1 (8 MAY 2011)

Time: Earth Year 2381 CE, Stardate: 58635.0 – 58648.0 (approximate)

Place: Milky Way Galaxy, Beta Quadrant; two separate unexplored sectors (as defined by Federation Standards), designated as ‘XXXXX’ and ‘XXXXX’, outside Federation Space approximately 10,750 light-years from Earth.

Background
The Zungalexian Star System lies within the Beta Quadrant, approximately 10,780 light-years from Sol, our sun. The star at the center of this system has a 98% similarity to the Sun and has 11 planets, 4 dwarf planets and an asteroid belt orbiting it. Of the 11 planets, there are 5 terrestrial and 6 gas giants. Of these five terrestrial planets the third and fourth planets developed Nitrogen-Oxygen atmospheres similar to Earth’s with plant and animal life developing on both. However, on the third planet a humanoid species evolved on it. This species would evolve and develop very similar to Homo sapiens (Humans) on Earth and would eventually call themselves Zungalexian, their sun Zungalexia and their planet, the fourth in the system, Zungalexia Prime.
Zungalexian appearance is very similar to humans. They are also anatomically similar to humans but have a lifespan that is typically two to two and a half times longer than humans. Also, at one point in time (specify time) 0.5% of the total population of Zungalexia III had the abilities of telekinesis, telepathy or both. The governmental authority of the star system is the United Republic of Zungalexia.

Born out of revolution, the Republic of Zungzamia would grow and thrive, lasting for 800 years. Despite being peaceful for most of its existence, this republic established itself and its freedom through war, fighting The Zungzamian Revolution (635-595 BCE) defeating an extremely oppressive enemy. To keep its freedom the Republic of Zungzamia would fight its’ former enemy again in “The War of 75 (AF)” [520-407 BCE].
Peace would be the norm until 61 CE when five countries that shared borders with the Republic joined forces and attacked without provocation. The Republic would fight and be nearly defeated but, end “The Great War” on its terms 151 CE by defeating the remaining two countries allied against it. However peace did not come easy. Beginning almost after the war ended, elements of the five defeated militaries randomly attacked Republic civilian and military targets in areas occupied by the Republic and the Republic proper during what was known as “The Fear Campaign”, lasting until 201 CE. These two events drove the Republic toward autocracy, becoming The Empire of Zungzamia in 207 CE.
In the year 2270, USS Kanaris (NCC-1854), a Surya class starship of the United Federation of Planets is caught in a temporal rift created by the destruction of Klingon D-7 battlecruiser via warp core breach. The rift causes the Kanaris to be thrown back in time about 250 years arriving just outside the Zungzamian star system. First contact is made with the Zungzamians. Due to the circumstances of the ship and crew of being displaced in time, the crew of the Kanaris stays on Zungzamia with the permission of the government. Kanaris’ crew influences the development of Zungzamian technology and society.
In the year 2295, USS Buran (NCC-1785), a Federation Constitution class refit starship disappears while on patrol near the Romulan Neutral Zone. Buran falls through a temporal distortion of its own, appearing just inside the Zungzamian star system 425 years in the past. The vessel is captured; the crew tortured and executed by Imperial Military on orders of the emperor.

Present time
New (Second) Republic encounter with the Federation, contact made by ZRS Enterprise in unexplored star system 60 light years from Zungzamia.
First official encounter with Zungzamia by the Federation via USS Enterprise-E.
The Enterprises head to Zungzamia. Zungzamian government officials meet with senior officers of the Federation ship. A State Dinner takes place. During the dinner, the Republic’s military attempts a coup d’état; invading the capital, directly attacking the Republic’s Starfleet Headquarters located near the capital city’s city limits and other government buildings within city limits. The coup is backed by the space fleet of the Zungzamian emperor’s descendant. The military uses robots/androids to fight the bulk of the ground and air battle.
