Rick Berman and Brannon Braga created the fifth and current television series based on Star Trek giving it the title Enterprise. The creators decided that they wanted to use an actual song, not an orchestral piece for the Main Title Theme. The song that the creators chose is entitled "Where My Heart Will Take Me", written by Diane Warren and performed by Russell Watson. The series and the song premiered on UPN on September 26, 2001. A decision was made to alter the main title theme for the show's third season. This altered version of the main title theme debuted during the season premiere on September 10, 2003. UPN executives felt that to tie the show to the Star Trek francise that the words "Star Trek" needed to be in the title. Thus, Enterprise officially became Star Trek: Enterprise on October 1, 2003.
