    Due to the success of Star Trek: The Next Generation, two of TNG's Executive Producers, Rick Berman and Micheal Piller, created a third incarnation of the Star Trek franchise. The end result of their efforts was Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. This show's main title theme, orginally composed and conducted by Dennis McCarthy in 1992, debuted during the series premiere in January, 1993. It would be revised slightly for the show's fourth season in 1995. This revised version would be used until the end of the series in June, 1999.
