SOVEREIGN CLASS

   Construction of the Sovereign class began in the mid-2360s. Like the Galaxy class, the Sovereign class is state of the art for it's time. The class is about 685 meters long and has 24 decks in the orginal configuration of the class. The class has a Bio-neural computer system, similar to that of the Intrepid class. Ships of this class were originally armed with twelve Type XII phaser arrays and five torpedo launchers; three forward and two aft. By 2379, Sovereign class starships have 29 decks and were armed with 16 phaser arrays and, at most, TEN torpedo launchers. The first production model of this class was launched and commissioned in 2372, registered as NCC-1701-E and is the sixth vessel to bear the name Enterprise. In less then ten years of service, Enterprise participated in several significant galactic events, which include the Borg invasion of the Sol System in 2373, the Ba'ku incident of 2375, and the Reman-Romulan incident of 2379.
